What can I say, other than I loved every moment of this story.
Brought back into the lives of Jocelyn and Merrick, and Jada and Ashton, by way of a stunning FMC Raquel, who any fan of Nicki Grace, will know was a side character in the Love Is trilogy.
I was so glad to see Raquel have her own story and was eager to read it.
I found Raquel to be an endearing and loveable main character.
She’s strong in her own right, having survived the car accident that took the life if her friend and living with the scars as a permanent reminder of it.
She is still outgoing and works hard to not be stigmatized as a dumb model.
She is smart and witty and a joy to read.
Blaze was fun to read, he’s unapologetically himself, he pushes people to be their best and enjoys dragging people out of their comfort zone.
He knew what he was doing when he issued that challenge on the first night with Raquel, he knew she wouldn’t be able to resist for long.
He is a good friend and mentor to his team.
His support was what finally got Raquel to open up and forgive herself, move on and do what she really wanted.
He is a wonderful character and the perfect match for Raquel
Absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a strong, funny and loveable FMC and a broody but caring Dom of an MMC who just needs to open his eyes to see what is in front of him.
Their story is definitely going onto my favorites shelf in my library.

This is my first read by Nicki Grace but it will NOT be my last! Her writing style is so smooth and enjoyable. Her descriptions pull you in and place you right in the middle of the story-describing he fruit in the fruit salad, saying how he “draws erotic mazes” while doing certain things with his tongue in certain places- top notch! This book gives an excellent representation of a dom/sub dynamic, with some spiiiicy spice, amazing humorous lines, and an overall really enjoyable and interesting plot. This was my introduction to Nicki’s books and let me to you she did not disappoint!! This book was captivating from the first chapter, perfect amount of plot and spice, and the writing style is just *chefs kiss*.
Raquel was one of the most relatable FMCs I have come across. Her inner dialogue at times had my cackling. Blaze, the hot, dominating and generous MMC is one of my favourite book boyfriends now! The chemistry between all of the characters was amazing, makes you want to go into your own sub adventures. I kind of want my nipples pierced now too 😉 IYKYK
I’m so glad I was able to read this story, I’m about to make it my personality for the unforeseeable future. Now I’m about to dive into Nicki’s entire collection ✌🏼

While I have read some of Nicki’s work in the past, I think this is by far my favorite. The story of Raquel and Blaze is my perfect smut combo, it has all my favorite tropes. First she worked in the boss/employee trope, then sprinkled in some of that age gap stuff that I love. Put a dash of the cat and mouse fun in and THEN, she added in some BD$M and I was hooked and obsessed. I didn’t want to put this down. Not to mention the connections to the His Mouthpiece series, the story line, suspense, and the action make this book top tier.
Blaze is the CEO of Vex, a security company that does a lot of work for high profile cases. He is also the lead of the team of kick-a$$ operators. He is tall, dark, and handsome and exudes that BDE.
Raquel is somewhat of an analyst at Vex. Former model, she is absolutely gorgeous, but don’t let her beauty fool you. She is smart as she is stubborn. But has some trauma riding her after losing her best friend.
***SPOILERS***
While they do work together, what brought them together (finally) was the attempted robbery and attack at a local convenience store. The rush, the mental warfare, gave them something to share which led to more conversations, which led to more flirting, which led to Raquel letting go and agreeing to be his submissive.
After the third attack on Raquel, Blaze decided she was moving in with him as his sub. The first couple months, scenes always occuring at his home. But it was her first night at the club and she realized she loved him. Despite all her efforts not to, despite all the warnings he gave “You’ll learn I’m not the man for you,” The moment he was about to “share her” made her realize she didn’t want to be shared, and he learned he didn’t want to share her either. They find peace in one another, making them fall even more for each other.
With the threat still looming around them, Raquel does the most selfless thing anyone could do and sacrifices herself to help the team she has slowly become a part of even if it is mostly behind the scenes. And of course, Blaze being who he is, gets to her just in time.
Raquel said it best when she said, “The journey that led us to this point, where we found ourselves blissfully in love, was a lengthy process that was fraught with danger, disaster, and unforgettable experiences, but it also brought us enlightenment and growth…” “Blaze and I supported each other through the toughest of times, and our bond grew stronger with every shared experience. We were not just friends, boss and employee or dom and sub, we were soulmates, ready to conquer whatever the future held.”
And to think, none of this would have happened if the *toy’s* batteries didn’t die…

This was a gripping story fro the very 1st page. The way Nicki set the scenes, her description of the tiniest detail, to the raw hot passion and sex. This is not the standard spicy smut novel, there is twists and turns that will surprise you. It’s a real page turner not for the faint hearted. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Raquel is the most relatable FMC I have come across, her inner dialogue halarious at times, Blaze the MMC your hot, dominating successful bad boy that gets you going in all the right ways, making you want to explore Sub adventures of your own!!

This was an incredibly fun read! I will admit, it took a few chapters for me to get pulled in, but once the story grabbed me, it didn’t let go. The spice was SOOOOOO good, and the action and storyline were well thought out and never felt like just filler. Everything had a purpose. Nicki created an entire cast of amazing characters, and I found myself getting worried for all of them during fight scenes and not just the main couple. As the first book I have read from this author, I was not disappointed, and I look forward to exploring her other works!

This my introduction into Nicki’s work and I enjoyed it. The suspense element of this book had me hooked, desperate to find out what would happen next.
I really liked Raquel and Blaze as characters, although his alpha hole mess annoyed me a bit at times, I felt he was a little rude for the sake of being rude without much value added. Overall though I thought they worked well together. I wish there had maybe been a little bit more lead up to them jumping into a “relationship” together as Dom/Sub at the start, but that’s solely a personal preference in a book and nothing against Nicki in the slightest.
The side characters were great, Axel was for sure my favourite, he can cook me ackee and salt fish any day of the week!

I was hooked from chapter 1. Raquel, the female main character, has an inner dialogue that had me laughing out loud! I could not stop smiling. She works for a security company called Vex. Blaze, Raquel’s coworker and boss, said and did things that had me blushing 🔥. If you love bdsm books with a plot, then this is the book for you! Nicki delivers the perfect mix of sweet and dirty, the good kind! I loved watching both characters grow and become who they wanted to be. Also, they have the most awesome group of friends. BUT, when I hit that halfway point, I literally couldn’t stop! Blazes kinky little world is addictive and fascinating. I feel as though this is what I was looking for when I first picked up 50 Shades all those years ago. Mrs Grace basically said “Oh, you call that BDSM? Hold my beer…”
